Officials from the Wilton Police Department announced that they were notified by the Pinnelis County Sheriff’s Office that Michelle Foley, 45, was a wanted fugitive in Florida stemming from larceny charges that were previously levied against her. Foley then failed to appear for court proceedings, according to police.
Police said that Foley had been living in Wilton and was in the process of moving out of the state to avoid being taken into custody.
On March 23, police said that Foley went to the Wilton Post Office in an attempt to pick up the last of her mail before leaving town. She was apprehended by police at the scene without further incident and was arrested.
According to police, Foley was detained in lieu of $250,000 bond and was scheduled to be arraigned on Monday in Norwalk on a charge of being a fugitive from justice. Police said that following arraignment, Foley will “eventually be turned over to Florida authorities to face (additional) charges.
